15 months old today!

Photos from today's playdate with Pia and Lux. Maia looks like such a big girl reading her book. Of course, it is upside down...

How did Maia get this old so fast??? Two years ago this month I became pregnant. That was so long ago.

I've gotten very behind on recording Maia's milestones and I have MANY hundreds of photos to choose from and that just overwhelms me.

Yesterday Maia climbed onto the goldenrod love seat by herself. Much to the dismay of Basil who was lounging on it. Soon enough she'll be climbing onto the real couch too and my days of storing the laptop and other things I don't want her to touch on the back of it will be over.

She's still tormenting the cats. Frequent tail pulling and laughing maniacally while doing it. She does also like to try to cuddle with Mowzle when he's sleeping on her floor bed which is his favorite place right now. She also tries to give him the head bump. He doesn't understand that. She likes to offer toys and random bits of stuff she finds on the floor to him too. Sometimes he at least sniffs them. Basil rarely lets her get that close to him so she has much more interaction with Mowzle. Not sure if it's really that he just tolerates her more or that he just really wants to stand his ground.

Animal noises Maia currently makes on command:
Moo
Cluck cluck
woof woof
baa
neigh
the rabbit noise we taught her that involves scrunching up her face
quack quack
while she doesn't say meow, she clearly is trying mimic what the boys sound like
tries to say ribbit
makes the fish face/noise

Miscellaneous stuff:
She does downward dog on command.
Blows kisses and actually kisses her hand now.
Dances a ton.
She's a huge climber - loves to climb up the step stool in the kitchen.
Very good at doing the tonal patterns at the end of the songs on her Music Together cds.
One day in the car she was shaking her fists and I realized she was doing it to the song that was playing - it's one that we shook the egg shakers to in music class.
She did 3 of the hand gestures to Don Alfredo the other day - the finger, hand and arm gestures.
Started doing this head bump thing - it's her way of greeting/in lieu of giving kisses. So she give head bumps goodbye. It's like a forehead tap.
When we arrived to pick her back up from hanging out with Siri this weekend they were going crazy screeching and jumping on the bed together and she seemed like such a big girl. I can't believe she's already old enough to actually play with Siri.

Words (We know there are many more but can't think of them):
hi
bu bye
ball
bee
daddy
mom-meeee
MANY words that she has just repeated once or twice after hearing them. Said lucky very clearly one day.
Did a bunch of names a couple times. Siri, Zane, Terran, Zoe and has said Pia a few times. Said Nana yesterday.
She talks very serious a ton complete with hand gestures. We just don't understand the language she is speaking.
She said cat for a while but stopped some time ago.
Tries to say blanket sometimes.
