Minnouw

Maia met the very small kittens that live below Jeff, Diana & Siri last weekend and was insanely excited by them. Screeching and stomping with excitement. Later, she was standing by their backdoor saying "minnouw? minnouw?" and I realized she was asking to go see the kittens (because we went out the backdoor to look at them through their backdoor). That was the first time we'd heard her use "minnouw". Since then she's been saying "minnouw" more often. I think that at first it only referred to kittens but we've been telling her that Mowzle & Basil are also minnouws so now she's using it more frequently. The SPCA had kittens at the Castro Farmers' Market the past couple weeks so we'd visited with them. Unfortunately, they weren't there this week and Maia surprised me by remembering them. When we were near where we've seen them she started asking "minnouw? minnouw?". Such a smart little person!
