Beach day! Wait, not so fast...

Maia finally gets to experience the fun of the topiary tunnel at Stow Lake!

Our picnic spot.

They emerge!
It was gloriously sunny and supposed to be 77 or so today so Diana and I decided to take the girls to the beach for a picnic. Alas, this is San Francisco. As we came within a few blocks of the ocean there was suddenly a low blowing wall of fog. So disappointing. So we turned around and ended up at Stow Lake where there was lots of sun. But wait, it wasn't that perfect. Every grassy expanse we passed was being watered. In the middle of the day. On the nicest day we've had in weeks if not months. So we sat on a bench between the lake and the road. Not really ideal. Especially with a crazy toddler who just wants to bolt off everywhere. At least we enjoyed the sun and I think the girls had fun. It's been so long since we had a beach day. Sigh.

Urban baby picnic: babaganoush with flatbread, sushi, sparkling lemonade, homemade whole wheat fig and apricot bars and various treats from Sheng Kee Bakery.
