First real illness (other than colds)

Maia's had a cold for the past two weeks. Last week her nose was running constantly but it didn't slow her down at all. By the end of the week she was doing much better but Monday she started getting sicker and having some bad nights (awake for a couple hours, restless, crying). Monday night she had a slight fever and was miserable - very sad. On Tuesday Cindy suggested that it sounded like an ear infection. Wednesday morning she was so sad - just sitting, which for her is absolutely not normal - so I took her to see Dr. Simons and Cindy was correct. Went home with amoxicillin and ibuprofen. Shortly after taking the ibuprofen she was back to normal chasing the cats down the hall. Unfortunately, she vomited the amoxicillin up Wednesday night. Twice. Once on each of her beds (and on Todd). Once while in bed and then tried to go back to sleep with her face in the vomit. She kept it down fine in the morning though. But then I noticed that she had a rash so back to see Dr. Simons who couldn't decide if it was an allergic reaction or just the rash that often occurs when a virus leaves the body. To be safe, no more amoxicillin. She definitely felt better yesterday and for most of today but woke up from her second (long!) nap today very whiney and clingy. Made it through music class fine but once we got home she was clinging to me and crying until we finally put her to bed where she passed out immediately. So, hard to say now if she's feeling better or not.
